Declan Cashman is a rising jazz vocalist based in Philadelphia, known for his smooth, resonant tone and refined sense of phrasing. Rooted in the tradition of classic jazz, his sound draws inspiration from icons such as Sarah Vaughan and Mel Tormé, while bringing a fresh, contemporary vitality to the music.
He has quickly established himself as a compelling presence on the live music scene, performing at leading Philadelphia venues including Chris’ Jazz Cafe, NotSoLatin, and Bourbon & Branch. In New York City, he has appeared at esteemed clubs such as Dizzy’s, Mezzrow, and The Django, further expanding his reach as an emerging artist.
In 2025, Declan earned national recognition as a Distinction Jazz Voice Winner with the YoungArts Foundation in Miami. That same year, he won first place in the vocal category at the National Jazz Festival in Philadelphia. He was also selected as the vocalist for the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, the Monterey Jazz Festival’s nationally acclaimed all-star ensemble, under the direction of GRAMMY-nominated pianist Gerald Clayton.
With a repertoire centered on early jazz standards, Declan is dedicated to preserving and reinterpreting the genre’s rich legacy for modern audiences. He is currently continuing his artistic development at Temple University, where he studies under esteemed faculty mentors.
